The work of caring for, educating and protecting children has always been of interest, leadership and direction to the District Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee. The district has identified this as a regular and continuous task of the entire political system, with the active response of organizations, individuals, families and society for children and has achieved many positive results. The district has directed all levels and sectors to fully implement policies to protect, care for and educate children and proactively issue many specific policies for children in special circumstances in the district. The awareness and responsibility of Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, families and society of the district regarding children have been significantly raised. This is one of the important factors for the central and provincial policies to comprehensively support children to be fully and promptly implemented locally. The health care, education, entertainment and social services systems have been strengthened, basically meeting the requirements of caring for, educating and protecting children in the district.
Currently in Dam Ha district, 100% of communes and towns have child protection and care committees and 100% of villages, hamlets and neighborhoods have a network of collaborators who regularly update information on changes in children. Thanks to that, the work of managing records related to child management and care is carried out closely, without duplication or omission of any cases. Inter-sectoral coordination has clearly promoted effectiveness in implementing programs and projects oneducating cultural lifestyles and moral training for students; preventing school violence and domestic violence; raising awareness among adolescents about the harmful effects of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, etc. 100% of children in special circumstances are assisted and cared for to integrate and have opportunities to develop; 100% of children at risk of falling into special circumstances are intervened and supported.
The district is focusing on implementing the National Nutrition Strategy for the period 2021-2030 and vision to 2045 in the area. In which, it strives to achieve the following key goals: Improving nutritional status in mothers, children and adolescents; preventing chronic non-communicable diseases and related risk factors in children and adolescents; by 2045, all people will achieve optimal nutritional status, control non-communicable diseases related to nutrition, contributing to improving health and quality of life... With the participation of 3 pillars: family - school - society, specific policies for children in ethnic minority, mountainous, remote and isolated areas have been effectively implemented.
The Action Month for Children is held every June to promote the movement of the whole people to care for, educate and protect children; to propagate, disseminate and mobilize agencies, organizations, educational institutions, families and individuals to implement policies, programs, plans, projects, build works and mobilize resources for children. Responding to this year's Action Month with the theme "Prioritizing resources to complete the goals for children", the District People's Committee has issued a plan with 7 groups of tasks, specifying the responsibilities of departments, branches, sectors, the Fatherland Front and district unions with the People's Committees of communes and towns, in accordance with the conditions and actual situation of the locality.
The main activities of the Action Month include: Organizing the Launching Ceremony combined with the opening of the 2025 summer activities in the last week of May to start the Action Month from June 1; strengthening communication on child care, education and protection on mass media channels and social networks; providing information to reporters writing about children; producing and replicating various types of communication materials on child care, education and protection.
In which, the Health Department is the leading unit in the organization. Organize propaganda, consultation, training and dissemination activities on policies and laws on children; equip skills in preventing accidents and injuries, preventing child abuse for grassroots staff working on children, for parents, caregivers and children. At the same time, effectively carry out vaccination and medical examination and treatment for children; detect and provide medical care for children who have suffered violence and abuse; strengthen inspection of food safety, nutritional products, pharmaceuticals, medicines, inspect medical examination and treatment for children at medical facilities, facilities providing medical examination and treatment services for children and strictly handle violations.
Along with that, the Department of Education and Training is responsible for implementing Guiding schools to propagate and mobilize parents to let their children participate in "military semester" classes, "summer skill camps", summer talent classes, especially swimming classes, life skills classes, self-protection skills classes, closely coordinating with schools in managing summer students and summer review. The District Youth Union is the core in organizing summer activities, directing the Youth Union at the commune level to organize movements and activities for children during the summer at cultural houses in villages, hamlets, neighborhoods...
The Month of Action for Children is not only an annual event, but also a reminder of the responsibility of each family, organization and individual in fostering the best conditions for future generations.
On April 10, 2025, the Ministry of Health issued Official Dispatch 2099/BYT-BMTE in 2025 on guidelines for implementing the organization of the Action Month for Children in 2025, taking place from June 1 to June 30, 2025. The content of the Action Month is to: - Increase the attention and direction of leaders, policy makers, levels and sectors on child care, education and protection to meet the requirements of developing a prosperous and happy country; - Promote the provision of comprehensive services on child care, education and protection; - Prioritize the allocation of resources to complete the goals, targets, tasks, and solutions to ensure the implementation of children's rights as set out. |
