Vietnam tourism promotes superior competitive advantages in the United States

The event introducing Vietnamese tourism in Boston (USA) opens up many opportunities for cooperation between businesses, experts, and scientists of the two countries in the tourism field, bringing the Vietnamese brand closer to the world.

After Washington DC and New York, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism is continuing the program to introduce Vietnamese tourism in Boston, in a series of activities to promote tourism in the United States in 2025.

According to information from the National Tourism Administration, the image of Vietnam, a destination of timeless beauty with unique culture and open development opportunities, was introduced to the Boston public by Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai.

Vietnam-US relations have been upgraded to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership since 2023, in which tourism plays an important bridging role in cultural exchange and promoting understanding between the two peoples.

As one of the key markets for Vietnamese tourism, in the first 10 months of 2025, the number of US visitors to Vietnam reached nearly 700,000. According to a report by UN Tourism, Vietnam is also one of the destinations with the highest growth rate of international visitors in the world , reaching 21% in the first half of 2025 and is considered a prominent and attractive destination.

So what are the outstanding reasons that make Vietnam an attractive and potential destination for cooperation for US businesses? According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai, first of all is the authentic experience. Vietnam is known as a safe and friendly destination with many heritages recognized by UNESCO: 9 World Heritage Sites and 16 Representative Intangible Cultural Heritages of Humanity.

Vietnam is developing strongly in the high-end segments with luxury resorts, golf tourism, MICE, health tourism, while constantly improving the quality of services and infrastructure. Notably, despite such high quality, tourism in the S-shaped strip of land has very competitive prices compared to other destinations in the region.

Tourism industry leaders affirm that Vietnam is a land of creativity and innovation. With a young, dynamic and talented population, Vietnam is becoming one of the most dynamic economies in Asia. From technology start-ups to sustainable tourism, digital art and green energy, Vietnam is shaping the future with creativity.

There are currently more than 2.3 million Vietnamese Americans, of whom about 40,000 live in the Boston area and Massachusetts. Many are professors, researchers, and businessmen who have made significant contributions to local academic and economic life. They are also “tourism ambassadors” who help promote the image of Vietnam to their American friends and colleagues.

“In Vietnam, cuisine is not just a meal but also a journey of cultural discovery. From pho, banh mi, goi cuon, to coastal seafood dishes, each dish tells a story about the country and people of Vietnam, thereby demonstrating sophistication, balance and community cohesion. Vietnam is a culinary paradise ,” affirmed the Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

Vietnam's tourism leaders also emphasized that Vietnam is committed to creating more favorable conditions for US tourists through flexible visa policies, direct flights and international standard services. Currently, US citizens can use 90-day electronic visas, and immigration procedures have been significantly improved; Phu Quoc Island in particular exempts visas for US tourists staying up to 30 days...

“The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will support US businesses through famtrip programs, providing high-quality promotional materials and connecting with reputable partners. We also welcome US media agencies to Vietnam to share authentic stories about the country and people of Vietnam, and believe that Vietnam-US tourism cooperation will continue to grow stronger in the coming time,” said Deputy Director Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai.
