“We are investigating whether communications in the air force area were intercepted,” a German Defense Ministry spokesman told AFP.
In the recording, discussions can be heard about the possibility of Ukrainian forces using German-made Taurus missiles and their potential impact. Other topics include the missiles being aimed at targets such as the Crimean bridge over the Kerch Strait.
According to German magazine Der Spiegel , Experts say the recording is authentic.
Margarita Simonyan, Editor-in-Chief of RT channel, on March 2 posted a 38-minute recording of what she said was German officers discussing how to attack Crimea.
In fact, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has so far refused to supply Taurus missiles to Ukraine, fearing that such a move would escalate the conflict. Meanwhile, Kiev has long called on Berlin to supply the Taurus, a missile that can strike targets at a distance of up to 500 km.
