"Erecting pillars" dynamically and creatively.

DTO - The 10th Congress of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee selected the building of the people of Dong Thap as "compassionate, dynamic, and creative" as one of the major aspects of the qualities of the people of Dong Thap. The compassionate people of Dong Thap have a solid foundation to continue building upon. And on that "foundation," the dynamic and creative "pillars" are naturally "erected" and "sprout" are "blossoms." Moreover, dynamism and creativity are crucial qualities in the process of building a "prosperous and livable" homeland, as its name, with the pride of its people, suggests: "Dong Thap - Land of Pink Lotus."

Dynamism means being proactive, positive, daring to think and act. It means working enthusiastically and striving to do one's best to accomplish assigned tasks. Creativity, on the other hand, means always being passionate, exploring and researching to create something new, both material and spiritual. Almost twin, dynamism and creativity are invaluable qualities for individuals and society at any stage, especially in modern society. Previously, many people thought that Vietnamese people in general, and those in Dong Thap in particular, were simply hardworking but lacked dynamism and creativity. Of course, this notion had some basis because, for a time, the majority of people lived within the confines of villages, cultivating wet rice with the image of "the buffalo leading, the plow following." That society needed manual labor, a diligent work ethic, and was advised to "compensate for lack of intelligence with hard work."

However, that's not all, especially for the Vietnamese people in Dong Thap. This is a new, wild, and harsh land. Settling in Dong Thap required a "commitment" from the people. To survive and thrive, the people of Dong Thap had to build houses themselves and cooperate with each other during the flood season, establish hamlets and villages, creating increasingly dense communities; reclaim and cultivate fields of sedge and rushes to produce "precious grains"; improve agricultural tools and implements to create essential items for life; and develop means of catching animals, not only to ensure livelihood but also to trade and save for the future. Besides "seeking a livelihood," in response to the call of the Fatherland and the Communist Party of Vietnam , the people of Dong Thap participated in movements against tyranny and aggression to regain independence, freedom, and equality. They were dynamic and creative in making weapons (spikes, spike traps, bee traps, slingshots, etc.) and developing methods of fighting the enemy. This dynamism and creativity contributed to the liberation of their homeland and country. This spiritual foundation was strongly activated when the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee decided to "conquer the Dong Thap Muoi region." Some experts, including reputable experts from abroad, considered it an impossible task. However, the Dong Thap Party Committee and people persevered and creatively revived a land that had been advised to "sleep peacefully." During the period of national renewal, especially in recent years, movements such as "start-ups" and "youth innovation" have provided further evidence of the dynamism and creativity of the people of Dong Thap. Thus, along with their compassionate nature, the people of Dong Thap possess a distinctly dynamic and creative spirit.

Of course, such dynamism and creativity do not meet current demands and risk falling further behind many places in the future. Some countries and territories around the world are creating things that are considered science fiction. Despite certain advances in the use of modern technology, the percentage of the population using ATMs and cashless transactions is still too small, digitalization is still in its infancy, and there is an excessive number of employed workers while self-employed individuals are rare... Currently, the locality, as well as the whole country, is in the process of integrating with the world, developing a socialist-oriented market economy, but still in its early stages, applying scientific and technological advancements with miraculous and rapid progress... Along with political factors, the natural environment, and epidemics, global development presents both great advantages and opportunities, as well as unpredictable and unprecedented challenges and difficulties... All of the above factors require Vietnamese people in general, and Vietnamese people in Dong Thap in particular, to possess high qualities of dynamism and creativity. Dynamism and creativity are the result of diligent and active training in learning, working, and life. Building upon their existing foundation, the people of Dong Thap are seizing the opportunities presented to foster dynamism and creativity: a highly developed economy with a thriving workforce, a transparent and open market, democratic politics, a harmonious and civilized society, and a reformed education system that encourages independent thinking and lifelong learning... all serving as preparation for the modernization of the locality and the country.

Dynamism and creativity are not unfamiliar to the people of Dong Thap. Due to the harsh natural and social environment, the people of Dong Thap have been dynamic and creative in expanding the territory and winning independence for the Fatherland. Subsequent generations have "conquered" the land, domesticated livestock, and are now "starting businesses." With the foundation already established, a wide-open space for creativity, and the involvement of the entire political system, the people of Dong Thap will "erect pillars" and develop their dynamic and creative qualities to keep pace with the times. The people of Dong Thap, "compassionate, dynamic, and creative," have been and will be the masters of a prosperous homeland: "Dong Thap - Land of Pink Lotus."
