Stopping and parking "chaotically" causes loss of aesthetics in the area of the Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center

In recent times, the road in the area of the Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center has become a stopping and parking point for many means of transport, including sleeper buses and tourist buses. The haphazard and chaotic stopping and parking affects traffic order, safety and urban aesthetics.

According to Ms. Le Thi Viet Ha, Director of the Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center, the square and the central cultural house were put into use in 2021. After many renovations and expansions, the project was completed and handed over to the management and use unit in September 2022. After being put into use, the road around the cultural house was opened to connect from National Highway 9 to Hung Vuong Street, extending across Nguyen Tri Phuong Street. "Although this route is small, the traffic density, stopping and parking is quite high," Ms. Ha said.

It is known that, with the function and task of the unit in ensuring safety at the square, the Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center has arranged a parking area. However, vehicles still frequently stop and park haphazardly. In particular, sleeper buses and tourist buses use this route every day as a gathering place, stopping and parking to pick up and drop off passengers, load and unload goods, even during events that affect security, order, traffic safety and environmental sanitation.

Present at the site, according to the reporter's records, in the early morning and late afternoon, many cars stopped and parked on the road connecting National Highway 9 to Hung Vuong Street, extending through Nguyen Tri Phuong Street as reported. Due to the low awareness of traffic participants, some cars stopped and parked on the road, some in the opposite direction, making it difficult for other vehicles to move.

In particular, in the late afternoon, sleeper buses and tourist buses stop and park to drop off passengers and load and unload goods in a very chaotic manner. It is known that at times, passenger buses even stop and park right in the premises of the Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center. Although the center's staff have reminded them many times, the above situation still continues. In some cases, the center's staff have even been challenged and threatened.

According to Ms. Le Thi Viet Ha, in the face of the above situation, the Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center has repeatedly sent documents requesting relevant sectors and functional forces to intervene to resolve the issue.

“Most recently, the Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center has sent a document requesting the Department of Construction and related sectors to consider placing a sign prohibiting cars on the above-mentioned route so that the authorities have a basis for management and guidance for people to stop and park their vehicles in the right places, contributing to ensuring security, order and urban beauty in the central area of the province as well as Dong Ha City,” Ms. Ha informed.

Relevant sectors, units and localities are requested to promptly take action and take measures to resolve the above situation.
