Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway: More than 15 trillion VND needed for expansion

According to the proposed plan, the expanded section is nearly 22km long, starting at Km4+000 (intersection of Ring Road 2 - Ho Chi Minh City) in Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City), ending at Km25+920 (intersection with Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway) in Long Thanh District.

Regarding the scale of investment, the overpass section from Ring Road 2 - Ho Chi Minh City to Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City will be expanded by 7.75m on each side to reach a scale of 8 lanes. The section from Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City to the intersection with Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway will be invested in expanding to a scale of 10 lanes. Of which, the route section will be expanded by 11m on each side, the roadbed width will be 49.5m. The bridge section will be expanded by 11.5m on each side, the total bridge width is 49.5m, including 2 units.

For Long Thanh Bridge, a new bridge unit will be built with a scale of 5 complete lanes (with an emergency lane), the bridge width will be 23.75m. The existing Long Thanh Bridge will maintain its current scale with 4 complete lanes (with an emergency lane).

With the above plan, the total investment of the project is more than 15 trillion VND, the proposed investment capital for the project is taken from the increased revenue of the central budget in 2024. According to the roadmap, the project will start construction in the third quarter of 2025, basically completed in 2026 to serve the traffic connection for Long Thanh International Airport when it comes into operation.
