With the goal of constantly innovating, improving quality and increasing passenger service amenities, after 3 months of upgrading and renovating, Vietnam Railways Corporation ( VNR ) has just officially launched a high-quality passenger train with a schedule running from Hanoi to Da Nang and vice versa on the evening of October 20.

Accordingly, VNR has built a high-quality train brand SE19/SE20 with its own identity and increased aesthetics to attract passengers on the Hanoi - Da Nang route such as: repainting and investing in some interior equipment to upgrade seat cars, sleeper cars, hand washing areas, etc.

In the sleeping area, in addition to replacing blankets, pillowcases and redecorating the train car walls, the air conditioning system is designed with air vent adjustment buttons so that passengers can adjust the temperature and wind direction according to their needs.

In particular, for the dining car, the railway industry has invested in completely renovating the interior of the car so that passengers can comfortably enjoy coffee or meals on the train and admire the natural scenery outside. The passenger cars have newly installed hot water tanks, ceramic sanitary equipment in the washroom and toilets... bringing a clean and luxurious feeling.

Along with investing in equipment, VNR also selects a team of flight attendants (train captains, service staff) who are experienced, have good appearance, skills, communication experience and especially can communicate in English.

Regarding ticket price policy, for now, the Railway Corporation will keep ticket prices as they are.

Along with the renovation of equipment and service quality on trains at Hanoi station and some major stations, from October 20, the railway industry also put into operation VIP waiting rooms to serve train passengers.

Specifically, passengers traveling on SE19/SE20 or some other high-quality trains will be arranged a waiting room and have their own entrance to the station and to board the train. In addition, the service of picking up and dropping off passengers at home will also continue to be deployed.

Another service that the railway industry also deployed to serve passengers at Hanoi station on this occasion is motorbike rental service. Passengers, especially tourists, when arriving or getting off at Hanoi station can rent motorbikes at the station gate to visit the scenic spots in the capital with very simple procedures.

Previously, this service was deployed by the railway industry at Hai Phong station and was positively received by tourists. It is expected that in the near future, the railway industry will deploy this service widely at major stations to serve passengers.

“The launch of the SE19/SE20 train and a number of new services is one of the solutions to improve service quality that the railway industry has been, is and will continue to implement in the coming time to bring passengers interesting experiences on railway journeys,” affirmed Mr. Hoang Gia Khanh, General Director of VNR.

Acknowledging the efforts and overcoming difficulties of the leadership team, officers, employees and workers of the railway industry in directing, operating and organizing production, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh, Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises, said that in recent times, VNR has focused on implementing the restructuring project; proactively and effectively exploiting international railway transport with international container trains.

VNR has also introduced experiential tourism products by rail such as Food tour on the Hanoi-Hai Phong route, luxury train on the Da Nang-Quy Nhon route (The Vietage), put high-quality passenger trains into operation, improved the quality of passenger service on the train and at the station, which has been known and enthusiastically received by customers.

Currently, VNR has been actively coordinating with many provinces and cities in intermodal activities to promote intermodal activities, continue to open new international intermodal stations (such as Cao Xa-Hai Duong station...) with the motto of bringing the border gate deep into the inland, creating favorable conditions for businesses and people, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality and the whole country.

Mr. Canh also suggested that in the coming time, VNR should increase services and tourism products by railway, use information technology applications in railway transport exploitation; focus on improving customer service quality, especially for this high-quality train; focus on improving hygiene quality on the train, at the station, which is a highlight for tourists; strengthen discipline and order in production.

“VNR proposes effective solutions to ensure train safety, which is a very important issue. It is not only a slogan and image to promote transportation services but also directly affects the implementation of the Corporation's production and business plan,” the Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises emphasized./.
