Ericsson is now the leading 5G developer globally.

“We are pleased to see our continued efforts to increase the energy efficiency of Ericsson’s 5G solutions recognized in the latest Frost Radar report,” said Fredrik Jejdling, Executive Vice President and Head of Networks at Ericsson. “We will continue to invest in leading technology capabilities with a focus on innovation, openness and driving customer business growth.”

“Ericsson has demonstrated its ability to scale innovation globally across 2G, 3G, 4G and now 5G,” said Troy Morley, analyst, Information and Communications Technology at Frost & Sullivan. “The company has invested significantly in research and development, which is essential in a market where technology is constantly evolving.”

Ericsson now delivers and operates 145 active 5G networks in 63 countries, the highest level Frost & Sullivan has ever seen in public reports.

Commenting further on the report, Morley added: “Energy efficiency is the buzzword right now. While initial 5G RAN solutions focused on proving the technology, Ericsson’s current 5G RAN solutions are smaller, lighter and more energy efficient, meeting customer needs.”
