EVN warns people to be wary of 'tricks' of impersonating electricity to commit online fraud

(Chinhphu.vn) - In the face of increasing online fraud cases in the form of impersonating electricity industry employees, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) has just issued a wide warning to people to raise vigilance and proactively prevent risks of losing personal and financial information.

Recently, there have been many sophisticated tricks of impersonating electricity employees to defraud consumers.

Therefore, EVN recommends that consumers should not make friends on Zalo with strangers; do not access strange links following the instructions of strangers when talking on the phone.

Do not install strange applications according to instructions from strangers when talking on the phone; do not transfer electricity bills to personal accounts.

EVN recommends that people who suspect fraud or forgery can contact electricity customer care centers (by region) for clarification.
