Increase energy savings
EVN said that in the period of 2023 - 2025 and the following years, the whole country must strive to save at least 2% of total electricity consumption annually; Reduce electricity loss across the entire power system to below 6% in the period up to 2025; Reduce peak load capacity of the national power system through implementing demand side management (DSM) and load adjustment (DR) programs, at least 1,500 MW by 2025.
"By 2030, EVN aims to have 50% of office buildings and 50% of homes using self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power," EVN set out its goal.
To achieve this, EVN has been promoting the electricity saving movement in its member units.
Accordingly, EVN requires units to be proactive and pioneer in implementing and piloting models of economical and efficient electricity use (such as energy management according to ISO 50001 standards, applying energy management systems, smart building management - Building Management System (BMS), smart devices...).
Units must include the electricity saving content of the unit, department, and division in the annual work completion assessment criteria; Reward units, departments, and divisions that perform well and review and remind units, departments, and divisions that do not meet the requirements; Do not use low-efficiency energy-using equipment and devices as prescribed in Decision No. 14/2023/QD-TTg dated May 24, 2023 of the Prime Minister .
The power generation sector needs to be proactive and pioneer in implementing and piloting models of economical and efficient electricity use.
For the transmission sector, EVN requires optimal operation of the transmission grid to effectively use primary energy sources and reduce power losses in the system. Implement solutions to reduce power losses approved by the Group in the Power Loss Reduction Project for the period 2021-2025. Implement technical management solutions, invest, renovate and upgrade the grid, strengthen technical management, limit incidents, ensure safe, stable and reliable grid operation, and reduce power losses.
Promote electricity saving propaganda to people, businesses and offices
EVN also determined that electricity saving propaganda plays a key role in achieving the set goals.
For households, EVN aims to promote programs on safe and economical use of electricity, raise public awareness of economical use of electricity in each residential group and residential area; promote and encourage customers to use electrical equipment labeled with energy ratings of 4 stars or higher.
In addition, EVN plans to promote the implementation of the "Households save electricity" movement, launch the "Green Family" movement in the digital environment; Propagate, guide, and encourage customers to install and use rooftop solar power systems, along with the installation of power storage.
For administrative units, power companies need to organize propaganda and sign commitments to save electricity with administrative units in the management area. Every month, power companies count the electricity consumption of customers and send notifications of electricity usage compared to the same period last year so that customers know and at the same time recommend solutions to save electricity.
For industrial production customers, EVN aims to propagate and sign commitments to 100% of customers, and the Management Boards of industrial zones and clusters in the area commit to saving electricity (at least 2% of electricity consumption/year).
To promote electricity saving, EVN recommends that customers on the list of key energy-using establishments strictly implement the Law on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy; Sign agreements with customers to reduce capacity by 30% - 50% when the system has difficulty in supplying electricity and according to the announcement of the power unit; participate in load adjustment events (DR) when notified by the power unit.
EVN recommends that the Ministry of Industry and Trade soon issue mechanisms to encourage customers to participate in programs to use energy economically and efficiently, adjust load...
The Group also proposed to launch national and group-based electricity saving emulation programs for electricity customers. At the same time, it recommended that the People's Committees of provinces and cities issue action plans to implement Directive 20/CT-TTg; Launch electricity saving emulation programs, with rewards and sanctions for organizations and individuals who have not done well in saving electricity; Urge, supervise, and inspect the implementation of electricity saving plans in the area.
