Mr. Le Hoang Anh Dung - Deputy General Director of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) said that based on the method of operating power sources and grids during the National Day holiday on September 2 of its member units, EVNCPC forecasts that the maximum load capacity in 13 provinces and cities in the Central Highlands - Central region is estimated at 2,915MW, an increase of 6.5% over the same period, with an estimated output of 63.4 million kWh.
To prepare a plan to ensure safe and continuous power supply during the National Day holiday on September 2 this year, EVNCPC requires its member units to strictly comply with the instructions of Vietnam Electricity Group.
Currently, units have arranged reasonable methods of operating power sources and grids to ensure safety and reliability under normal conditions and flexible switching in case of incidents; prioritizing ensuring electricity at locations where local political and cultural activities take place.
EVNCPC has proactively worked with the People's Committees of provinces and cities in the region to grasp the time and location of events, ensure stable power supply and perform good business and customer service during the holidays.
EVNCPC especially notes that the 13 member Power Companies shall not cut off power or cause power outages to customers on the National Day holiday, September 2, except in cases of incident handling; at the same time, consider arranging backup diesel generators; arrange staff at 110 kV substations to supply power to locations of major political and cultural activities to celebrate the National Day celebrations of provinces and centrally-run cities.
To effectively carry out the above work, power units have increased inspection, detection and timely handling of defects in power source equipment, power grids, 110kV transformer stations, SCADA systems (monitoring and operation); at the same time, they have carried out lighting to ensure safety in the line corridor; propagated to prevent cases of flying kites near power lines, acts of shooting metal-coated paper cannons and throwing objects onto the lines that violate the safety corridor of the power grid...
Power companies have organized additional shifts for leaders, mobile operation teams, power operation and repair teams, and dedicated telecommunications network troubleshooting during the holidays; fully prepared supplies, spare equipment, fuel, communication systems and vehicles, ready to quickly handle damage and incidents.
The Central Power Customer Care Center also increased the number of staff on call center 19001909 to receive and properly handle information related to electricity supply in the area, promptly responding to customers during the holidays.
"EVNCPC has been actively implementing all measures to ensure stable and safe power supply for the National Day holiday. We also recommend that customers using electricity, if everyone in the family is traveling during this National Day holiday, should pay attention to turning off the power of unused electrical equipment to avoid the risk of fire and explosion due to electrical short circuits, and to avoid wasting electricity when not in use," emphasized Mr. Le Hoang Anh Dung./.
