EVNNPT receives assets - Power connection works of BOT Vung Ang II Thermal Power Plant project

(Chinhphu.vn) On June 4 in Hanoi, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and Vung Ang II Thermal Power Company Limited (VAPCO) signed the minutes of handover and acceptance of assets - the power connection works of the Vung Ang II BOT Thermal Power Plant project at the 500kV Vung Ang Substation.

According to the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) of Vung Ang II BOT Thermal Power Plant signed between Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and VAPCO on December 17, 2020, VAPCO will transfer to EVN all rights, ownership and interests in the Phase 2 Power Connection Project after completion for EVN or EVNNPT along with the corresponding warranties, commitments and interests of all manufacturers.

The connection works handed over by VAPCO to EVN will be handed over by EVN to EVNNPT.

EVN has assigned EVNNPT to work with VAPCO on behalf of EVN to receive connection projects according to PPA regulations and Vietnamese laws.

The handover is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 02/2024/ND-CP dated January 10, 2024 of the Government on the transfer of power works as public assets to Vietnam Electricity Group; Decision No. 1330/QD-BCT dated May 13, 2025 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on establishing public ownership and transferring power works to Vietnam Electricity Group.

In the past time, EVNNPT has closely coordinated with VAPCO, especially in completing the 500kV Vung Ang Transformer Station to relieve the capacity of the Vung Ang II BOT Thermal Power Plant.

The handover is in accordance with Vietnamese law so that EVNNPT can operate the power transmission system.

VAPCO General Director Go Fukushima thanked EVNNPT for supporting the procedures for connecting the transmission grid to the transformer station in the past time, and providing maximum support to the Company in completing the project early to help the Company release the factory's capacity.
