Fanpage uses doctor's photo to illegally call for donations, K hospital warns

Recently, on social networking sites, there have been Fanpages and information about the "For Children with Cancer 2025" race that used images of the race of K Hospital, the Bright Tomorrow Fund and personal images of doctors and medical staff of K Hospital to post articles and call for money to register for the race with bad intentions.

Regarding the above incident, the representative of K Hospital affirmed that the information about the "For Children with Cancer 2025" race using the hospital's image that is spreading on social networks is fake, not issued by K Hospital and not related to any official activities. This unit also only uses 1 fanpage "K Hospital" with the address: https://www.facebook.com/benhvienk.vn and 01 only official website: www.benhvienk.vn to post information.

The fake fanpage has many pictures of medical staff participating in the race for the purpose of fraud.

MSc. Dr. Nguyen Ba Tinh, Head of the Social Work Department of K Hospital said: "We have discovered a series of fake fanpages, not only images of leaders, doctors, and medical staff. In the comments section, there is a lot of information about successful transfers, helping cancer patients, in order to lure social network users."

"The hospital has sent information about the above incident to the authorities for investigation and handling," he added.

Previously, on December 8, 2024 in Hanoi , K Hospital coordinated with the Bright Tomorrow Cancer Patient Support Fund and the sponsor to successfully organize the "Relay Journey" Run to raise funds to support cancer patients in difficult circumstances across the country.

The race received great support from medical staff and a large number of people with more than 1,500 athletes participating, the total amount of money raised was more than 546 million VND sent to the Bright Tomorrow Fund to support patients.

In the near future, K Hospital will continue to organize races to accompany and support cancer patients across the country. Up to now, the Organizing Committee has not launched the "Relay Journey" race in 2025.

This scam is not new, and is becoming increasingly sophisticated. At the beginning of this year, authorities warned people to be vigilant and cautious against fake Fanpages, especially scammers who use tricks to ask for a blue tick from Facebook to build trust.

Social network users need to carefully check and verify the background of the person providing information on the Fanpage. Users should absolutely not transfer a deposit without verifying the credibility of the subject.

People are advised to carefully check the origin of the account and the authenticity of the subject before receiving any information. In case of becoming a victim of a scam, people need to immediately report to the police for timely support and resolution.
