The teams participating in the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship finals have been divided into three groups of four teams each, competing from May 7 to 18 in China.
According to the draw results on the afternoon of February 6, the Vietnamese women's futsal team, under the leadership of coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang, was placed in group B. The opponents in the same group are Iran, Hong Kong (China) and the Philippines.
In this group, Iran – the two-time champion – is rated the highest. However, the difference in level in women's futsal is not as big as in men's futsal or 11-a-side football.

In the remaining groups, host China will face Uzbekistan, Chinese Taipei and Australia in Group A. Japan, with two runners-up finishes, will meet Thailand, Indonesia and Bahrain in Group C, which is considered the most tense group.
In this tournament, the top two teams in each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarter-finals. From the quarter-finals onwards, matches will be played in a single-elimination format.
Notably, this year's tournament also serves as a qualifier for the 2025 FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup – the first of its kind to be held in the Philippines.
The top three teams in the tournament will qualify for the World Cup. If the Philippines, the host of the World Cup, reaches the semi-finals, the other three teams in the semi-finals will automatically qualify.
