Nguyen Anh Minh just had an impressive and brave performance to win the Trang An Open 2025, an event of the All Thailand Golf Tour system held for the first time in Vietnam.
After 4 challenging rounds, Nguyen Anh Minh scored a total of 273 strokes (-11) with results of 70-68-66-69, surpassing many experienced opponents to win the men's amateur championship. This victory not only affirmed the talent and will of the golfer born in 2007, but also marked a meaningful milestone in his career journey.
Thanks to his excellent performance at Trang An Open 2025, Nguyen Anh Minh jumped 285 places, from 2351 to 636 on the World Golf Rankings (OWGR). The 18-year-old golfer officially surpassed Truong Chi Quan to become the Vietnamese golfer with the highest OWGR ranking, despite still being an amateur.
Currently, there are 82 Vietnamese golfers (both professional and amateur) listed on the OWGR. For a long time, the No. 1 position in Vietnam belonged to Truong Chi Quan, who is currently ranked 2535 in the world. The third position belongs to Tran Le Duy Nhat at 2655 OWGR.
This is an extremely impressive achievement for Nguyen Anh Minh personally, because the 18-year-old golfer has only been counted in 5 events on the OWGR, while Chi Quan has competed in 23 events. In 5 professional tournaments, Anh Minh only missed the cut at the BRG Open Golf Championship 2024, the rest are in the Top 18.
In the WAGR world amateur golf rankings, Nguyen Anh Minh is also the number 1 Vietnamese golfer, at 68th place in the world. The best ranking of the golfer born in 2007 on this ranking is 46th in the world.
