The first wave even came in the post-match player interviews. Argentinian star Garnacho did not hesitate to criticize the coach by saying: "I played every game in the tournament, but then I only played 20 minutes in the final. Let's see how the summer goes." When a player says this, he directly attacks the coach and even goes a step further by implying that he will leave the team.

But coach Ruben Amorim's reaction afterwards was even worse. When asked by reporters about Garnacho, Mr. Amorim snapped: "So who missed two chances in the semi-final? It was Garnacho."

Football is no stranger to stars - who earn tens of millions of dollars - "sulking" because they are not allowed to play. But top strategists often choose to handle things neatly behind the scenes. Amorim clearly lost control when he publicly argued with his student.

It would take a stack of A4 paper to list in detail the problems facing Man United after this summer. They are certainly in a serious financial crisis without any tickets to European competitions.

This equates to a loss of at least 200 million euros in prize money, ticket sales, sponsorships... They also faced internal problems, such as the above-mentioned controversies. And in the end, all transfer plans fell through.

A few days before the Europa League final, the media confirmed that Man United and Cunha were close to finalizing the deal. But so far, the deal has not been completely finalized. And it cannot be ruled out that Cunha "turned around" after witnessing the chaos at Old Trafford.

Cunha is about to turn 26 - the best period of a player's life with about 3-4 more years of top-level football. Choosing the right team at this stage is considered a key factor in determining his career. Obviously, Man United is too risky a choice.

Man United will have a hard time getting access to stars this summer. They have no European Cup tickets, no money left (the team has had to cut nearly half of its staff recently), and no promise of a future for the players. A bleak summer awaits the "Red Devils".
