In 1998, the Vietnam Geological Department, the Northwest Geological Federation 3, in collaboration with Lao Cai province and the Vietnam Minerals Corporation, built a memorial stele for the 50 martyrs of Geological Group 305 who heroically sacrificed their lives in the fight to protect the country's border and the Sin Quyen copper mine on February 17, 1979.
This memorial site has a stele honoring the hero - engineer - martyr Nguyen Ba Lai and the workers and engineers who sacrificed their lives to protect the Sin Quyen mine. Currently, the memorial site has become one of the red addresses of Bat Xat district for cadres, workers, and people of all ethnic groups in the area to visit and report on national holidays and New Year.
In March 2008, during a visit and work in Lao Cai province, comrade Tran Duc Luong, former member of the Politburo , President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, came to burn incense in memory of the martyrs who were geological colleagues who sacrificed their lives to protect the Sin Quyen copper mine and directly planted a banyan tree at this memorial site.
