Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes is brimming with confidence over a breakout season for the Gunners. The Brazilian believes the 2025-26 campaign will be the year Arsenal end their five-year trophy drought and bring the glory their fans have been waiting for.

Gabriel shared with ESPN on July 20:

"I've been at Arsenal for five years and I've seen how the team has developed. I came here to win big trophies and I believe that 2025-26 will be different. In the past, we've missed out on a few trophies when we were very close. But this year everything will be different. I believe in that very much."

Arsenal had huge expectations for the 2024-2025 season, but once again they failed to materialize into titles. The Gunners fell to Newcastle in the League Cup semi-finals, were eliminated by Manchester United in the FA Cup third round, lost to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-finals, and were soon left behind by Liverpool in the Premier League race.

Under coach Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have made significant strides in terms of playing style and position. However, they have only won the 2020 FA Cup and the 2020 and 2023 English Community Shields. More notably, the Gunners have finished second in the Premier League in each of the last three seasons, which has further increased the team's desire to conquer.
