The Galaxy Z Fold6 is designed to be square with flat edges, more sturdy than the previous generation, but it feels less comfortable to hold. The device comes in three new colors: gray, pink and navy blue, while the two special colors, black and white, are only sold on the company's website.
The outer and inner screens still retain the same size, 6.2 and 7.6 inches respectively. However, the size of the device when opened has changed from 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.1 mm on the Z Fold5 to 153.5 x 132.6 x 5.6 mm, and when folded is 153.5 x 68.1 x 12.1 mm compared to 154.9 x 67.1 x 13.4 mm of the previous generation. Thanks to that, the outer screen ratio is 22.1:9 instead of 23.1:9, creating a wider feeling, no longer too long.
In addition, Samsung still uses the Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, 2K resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The Flex hinge system from the Z Fold5 generation has an improved structure and is twice as durable as on the Z Fold6. The crease in the middle of the screen is still there but is much fainter and less noticeable when looking straight.
The Galaxy Z Fold6 still uses the Armor Aluminum frame - the type of aluminum that Samsung claims is the hardest on a smartphone, instead of using titanium like the S24 Ultra. The water resistance remains at IPX8 and is still not dustproof.
The highlight is that the device supports a series of AI-generated features to serve tasks such as editing text, messages from reminders, circling any content to search, quickly translating, looking up QR codes or solving math problems.
The standout feature is translation, which allows you to use two screens to communicate directly in conversation mode, or translate in real time in listening mode. Users can use headphones for a better experience.
Generative AI is also applied to photo editing. In addition to familiar features such as removing extra subjects and creating character images, the Z Fold6 also has the ability to intelligently sketch. Users sketch images that match the scene, then the AI will create suitable subjects with many different options.
Samsung equips the device with the best configuration available today with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 12 GB RAM and three versions of internal memory: 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. The device is equipped with a new vapor chamber cooling system that is 1.6 times larger than the previous generation to ensure heat dissipation and maintain performance for the new processor chip.
The battery capacity remains the same at 4,400 mAh despite the device being thinner and lighter. The product is equipped with 25W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. The speaker design has changed to a long groove instead of a hole. The product is considered one of the smartphones with the best speakers today.
The camera cluster with the protective metal ring on the outside has been redesigned with concentric circular grooves, not the flat shape like on the Z Fold5. The camera parameters remain unchanged with the main camera 50 megapixels supporting OIS anti-shake, 12 megapixels super wide angle and 10 megapixels telephoto lens supporting OIS with 3x optical zoom, 30x digital zoom.
However, the image quality is better thanks to the new processor chip and AI support. The shooting features are no different from the S24 series launched earlier this year.
The Z Fold6 has three configuration versions sold in Vietnam with 12 GB RAM. Starting at 43.99 million VND with 256 GB memory, 47.99 million VND with 512 GB version and 54.99 million VND with 1 TB version.
