From October 10-20, at Hai Duong International General Clinic, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee organized health check-ups and drug tests for drivers.
On the first day of inspection, 400 drivers working at enterprises, cooperatives, and households transporting passengers and goods by car were tested for health and drugs.
Drivers coming for health check-ups and drug testing will be guided to take test samples, fill in information, be given a code, given a urine sample tube, and perform the test.
The process of drug testing for drivers is carried out strictly step by step. Each urine sample of the driver will give results within 5 - 10 minutes. If the result is negative, the driver will receive the results and be allowed to leave. In case of a positive result, the drug crime investigation police force will investigate, clarify and have a plan to handle according to regulations.
This is the 9th year that the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee has organized health checks and drug testing for drivers. All cases that test positive for drugs are strictly handled according to regulations. Thereby helping to improve the responsibility of transport units and businesses and the awareness of drivers to comply with the law when operating vehicles.
During the 2023 inspection, Hai Duong discovered 7 drivers testing positive for drugs.
In the first 9 months of 2024, Hai Duong traffic police fined 16 cases of drivers testing positive for drugs while still working, with a total fine of 140 million VND.
