According to Hue Central Hospital, on average, the hospital needs about 150 units of blood and 25 units of platelets per day to meet the needs of emergency and treatment services. However, during the pre-Tet and post-Tet period, the demand often increases by 200-250 units because patients often need blood transfusions.
In addition, hospitals in the area also need to reserve more blood to meet the needs of emergency preparedness and treatment during the long Tet holiday.
This is the second time in 2024 that the voluntary blood donation festival "White Blouse - Pink Heart" has been held, attracting nearly 400 staff members, including doctors and nurses from departments and centers at two facilities of Hue Central Hospital to participate.
