Nearly 9,000 households escape poverty, 11 communes meet new rural standards in Da Nang

On the morning of June 3, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a conference to review the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction and new rural construction for the 2021-2025 period.

Accordingly, Da Nang has completed all set targets, with nearly 9,000 households escaping poverty and 11/11 communes meeting new rural standards, including 8 advanced new rural communes and 2 model communes.

From 2021 to now, Da Nang has mobilized more than 1,225 billion VND for poverty reduction. Diverse support policies, such as building 404 new houses, repairing 2,572 houses, reducing 50% of rent for 1,358 poor and near-poor households, and disbursing more than 226 billion VND in preferential loans for 4,584 households to develop the economy .

Along with that, vocational training, healthcare,education and access to social services for the poor are also implemented synchronously, exceeding the central level.

In the construction of new rural areas, Hoa Vang district has achieved many outstanding results with modern infrastructure, many high-tech production models have been replicated, increasing income for people. The city-wide OCOP program has 147 recognized products, of which 62 products have achieved 4 stars, 85 products have achieved 3 stars. Many products have reached the international market, contributing to affirming the local agricultural brand.

At the conference, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City emphasized that in the coming time, the city will focus on three groups of poverty reduction policies including production support, job creation, access to social services and infrastructure development in disadvantaged areas. Particularly, the new rural program needs to be closely linked with agricultural restructuring, developing OCOP products according to the value chain, combining tourism and improving the quality of human resources...

On this occasion, the conference awarded Certificates of Merit to 23 collectives, 14 individuals, and 1 household with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Da Nang City joins hands to build new rural areas"; 10 collectives and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement "For the poor"; 5 collectives and 5 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement to build new rural areas.
