Nearly 90% of students at Ho Chi Minh City National University use ChatGPT

(NLDO) – Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into teaching is both an advantage and a challenge for the education sector.


Three major trends in modern language teaching include: integrating AI into foreign language assessment; developing interactive multimedia learning environments; and personalizing technology-based learning pathways.

That was shared by Mr. Dieter Bruhn, senior lecturer of the English Language Instructor Program - US Department of State, at the international scientific conference with the theme "Research and Teaching of Languages and Interdisciplinary Sciences in the Digital Age" organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Law on November 16.

According to Mr. Dieter Bruhn, language education is entering a period of profound influence by AI, especially the interaction between learners and teachers in the learning process. With the rapid development of AI, teachers are forced to learn and update new technologies if they do not want their lessons to become boring.

A study by Ho Chi Minh City University of Law shows that 10.8% of students from 6 member schools of Ho Chi Minh City National University are using ChatGPT for a fee and nearly 90% are using ChatGPT for free to support their studies, research and other work.

Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Viet Dung, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law emphasized: "It is necessary to have effective teaching and research methods that are suitable for the trend; develop a strategy to integrate digital technology into foreign language training programs; strengthen international cooperation in interdisciplinary research; develop digital capacity for the teaching staff; and combine teaching models that are suitable for the digitalization trend".

Establishment of the Institute of Intellectual Property, Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Ho Chi Minh City University of Law has just launched the Institute of Intellectual Property, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, with Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thi Nam Giang as Director.

The Institute has three main functions and tasks: short-term training, implementing and coordinating short-term training programs in the fields of intellectual property, entrepreneurship, and innovation for students inside and outside the school; scientific research, implementing and cooperating in scientific research, aiming to improve the quality of research in the fields of intellectual property, entrepreneurship, and innovation; serving the community, providing experts for scientific and technological activities, providing legal advice and inspiring creativity for students, contributing to the overall development of the community.
