After 3 days (from April 18-20), Phuc Yen city organized to collect voters' opinions on the draft project to arrange provincial and commune-level administrative units, nearly 99% of Phuc Yen city voters agreed with the plan to merge provincial and commune-level administrative units. Of which, 98.82% of voters agreed to merge commune-level administrative units and 98.59% of voters agreed with the plan to merge provincial-level administrative units.
Voters of Phuc Yen city expressed their agreement with the merger of provincial and communal administrative units.
To ensure that the voter's opinion collection takes place publicly, safely, and in accordance with regulations, the People's Committee of Phuc Yen city has directed wards and communes in the area to bring ballots to each household to collect opinions directly.
Through understanding, most voters and people of Phuc Yen city are very interested in the organization and arrangement of administrative units; at the same time, they expressed high agreement with the draft project on the arrangement of administrative units.
Many voters believe that the merger of the three provinces of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc and Hoa Binh is necessary to create new development space, help maximize the potential and advantages of each region, and open up new opportunities for common economic and social development.
After the merger, the provinces will help reduce unnecessary administrative levels, saving the state budget. This is not only a factor to help improve management efficiency but also ensures fairness in resource allocation.
Naming the new province Phu Tho is not only a tribute to the nation’s roots but also a symbol of solidarity, attachment and preservation of traditional cultural values. This is a way to affirm one’s own identity, while connecting generations in building a common future of development.
Regarding the merger of commune-level administrative units, the majority of voters believe that the arrangement is necessary to meet development requirements in the context of urbanization planning and the construction of advanced, exemplary new rural areas. Reducing commune-level administrative units will also help create a streamlined government system with more effective management capabilities, while providing better service to the people.
