Nearly half a million candidates choose History for 2025 High School Graduation Exam - Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television

Nearly 500,000 candidates registered for History in the 2024 high school graduation exam, the largest proportion among elective subjects.

Statistics on the number of candidates taking the 2025 high school graduation exam by subject have just been announced by the Ministry of Education and Training . In addition to Math and Literature, which are two compulsory subjects, candidates tend to choose subjects in the social sciences more than the natural sciences. In which:

History was the most popular subject chosen by candidates - nearly 500,000 candidates. Next was Geography (more than 494,000), English (nearly 359,000), Physics (more than 354,000). The remaining subjects had less than 250,000 candidates.

The two new subjects, Technology and Informatics, were chosen the least. Of these, Informatics had more than 7,700 students, and Industrial Technology had just over 2,400.

Details of the number of candidates registering to choose subjects in the 2025 high school graduation exam:

The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26-27. According to the new general education program, candidates will take four exams, of which Math and Literature are compulsory. In addition, students will choose two subjects they have studied at school (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economics and Law, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Language).

In the graduation score calculation formula, exam scores account for 50%; the rest is the grade 10, 11, 12 report card scores (50%) and priority points if any. Compared to before, the report card score increased by 20%.
