Raw rice prices have increased slightly.

Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, February 4th, 2025, showed little fluctuation. Prices for all types of raw rice increased slightly, and paddy prices remained relatively stable compared to before Tet (Lunar New Year).

Specifically, regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of IR 504 raw rice has increased by 100 VND, fluctuating between 7,700-7,800 VND/kg compared to before Tet; finished IR 504 rice is fluctuating between 9,500-9,700 VND/kg; OM 380 raw rice has increased by 100 VND, fluctuating between 7,400-7,500 VND/kg compared to before Tet; finished OM 380 rice is fluctuating between 8,800-9,000 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, prices range from approximately 5,500 to 7,300 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice is priced at 7,100 - 7,300 VND/kg; dry rice bran has decreased by 100 VND, ranging from 5,500 - 5,600 VND/kg compared to before Tet.

Observations in various localities today show that rice supplies are arriving sporadically, and buying and selling transactions are slow. In Sa Dec ( Dong Thap ), rice supplies are arriving sporadically, and transactions are minimal; rice of all types remains relatively stable, with warehouses purchasing consistently.

At Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), rice supplies are low, with only a few warehouses open for initial purchases, and prices remain stable. In An Cu (Cai Be district, Tien Giang province ), market rice transactions are slow, and prices are relatively stable.

At retail markets, rice prices remain stable compared to yesterday. Currently, regular rice ranges from 16,000 to 17,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price at 28,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice is 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 to 20,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice ranges from 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the current prices are as follows: IR 50404 rice (fresh) ranges from 5,500 - 5,700 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice ranges from 5,800 - 6,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,600 - 6,800 VND/kg; OM 380 rice is at 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg; OM 18 rice (fresh) ranges from 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 is at 9,200 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today indicate a limited supply of rice for sale and slow new rice transactions. In Dong Thap, new transactions are slow, with traders mainly monitoring prices and only a small amount being finalized. In Can Tho, there is little demand for rice and limited purchasing power.

In An Giang, rice trading is slow and traders are mainly observing prices. In Kien Giang, farmers are offering a lot of rice for sale, but new transactions are slow, and rice prices are relatively stable. In Soc Trang, there is a good supply of rice for sale, with most buyers placing deposits before Tet.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable today compared to the end of last week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price for 5% broken rice is $405/ton; 25% broken rice is $380/ton; and 100% broken rice is $318/ton.
