Vietnam's ST25 rice won first prize in the World's Best Rice contest for the third time.

ST25 rice won first prize at the World's Best Rice 2025 contest, along with Cambodia's Phka Romdoul rice. This is the third time Vietnam's ST25 rice has been honored with first prize at this contest.

At exactly 11:30 a.m., the Organizing Committee of the " World's Best Rice" contest in 2025 announced that Vietnam's ST25 rice and Cambodia's Phka Romdoul rice had both won first prize in this year's contest.

The “World’s Best Rice” competition is part of the 17th Global Rice Trade Conference organized by The Rice Trader (TRT). This year’s conference takes place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from November 7-9.

Mr. Ho Quang Cua and the group of engineers from the private enterprise Ho Quang Tri - the group of engineers who created the ST25 rice variety and built the Ong Cua ST25 Rice brand - were all present at the conference and received this award.

Mr. Do Ha Nam, Chairman of the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), was also present at the conference and shared joy with the award of the Vietnamese rice industry.

A representative of the private enterprise Ho Quang Tri - the producer of Ong Cua ST25 rice, said that after three days of conference and competition, at noon on November 9, the organizing committee officially announced the results.

This is the joy of businesses as well as the pride of the Vietnamese rice industry when Ong Cua ST25 rice continues to affirm Vietnam's pioneering position on the world rice map.

At the event, the company shared about its journey of researching and developing high-quality ST fragrant rice varieties over the past 30 years.

At the same time, the enterprise also shared about the positive impact of the World's Best Rice award, the spillover effects from helping to increase farmers' income to building a brand of high-quality Vietnamese rice, opening up export opportunities to demanding markets such as the US, Japan, Europe and Australia...

The “World’s Best Rice” contest is part of the annual Global Rice Trade Conference. ST25 rice has won the first prize twice in this contest, and this is the third time.

ST25 rice of engineer Ho Quang Cua's group was first honored with the World's Best Rice Award in 2019. The second time ST25 rice won First Prize in this competition was in 2023 and most recently in 2025.

Not only did he win the World's Best Rice Award, in 2022, the Global Rice Trade Conference honored Mr. Ho Quang Cua as an individual with lifetime achievements in the rice industry (World Rice Community - Lifetime Achievement Award).
