Meeting with former provincial leaders of all periods on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Lam Dong Liberation Day

(LĐ online) - On the afternoon of April 3, on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation Day of Lam Dong - Da Lat (April 3, 1975 - April 3, 2025), the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province held a meeting to pay tribute to comrades who were former key leaders of the province through the periods.

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the process of fighting for independence and the journey of the Party Committee, government and people of Lam Dong together with the whole country to build a new life after the war.

The comrades who are key leaders of the province through the periods were also informed of the province's outstanding results in the first quarter of 2025.

The economy continued to develop, with a positive economic growth rate of 4.68%, up 1.66% over the same period. State budget collection was implemented with great efforts and determination by all levels and sectors. The total state budget revenue as of March 31, 2025 reached VND 4,210 billion, reaching 29% of the local estimate, up 6% over the same period.

Tourist arrivals to Lam Dong continued to increase and reached 2.62 million, up 10.1% over the same period. 237 temporary houses were removed, with a cumulative total of 1,272/1,972 houses, reaching 62.6%.

Admitted 267 new party members, reaching 18% of the plan. The province has focused on directing to remove difficulties for businesses, support production; attracted 3 non-budgetary investment projects, with registered capital of 1,308.5 billion VND; of which, there is 1 foreign direct investment project (FDI).

Party building work has received special attention, with synchronous and comprehensive leadership and direction in all areas. The consolidation of the organizational apparatus and the arrangement of administrative units have been directed and implemented urgently and resolutely...

In addition, Comrade Nguyen Thai Hoc - Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee informed the former leaders of the province through the periods about the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Lam Dong - Da Lat, towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). In particular, he emphasized that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee has directed the development of a plan to organize the Anniversary Ceremony in a thoughtful and solemn manner, creating a spreading effect throughout the province; at the same time, directing relevant agencies to step up propaganda work to cadres, party members and the masses to raise awareness and pride in the 50 years of glorious revolutionary struggle of the Party and our people in the resistance war against the US to save the country; strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the regime.

The provincial leaders also directed localities to proactively organize activities to review the revolutionary traditions of Lam Dong's army and people in conjunction with cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities, visit Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Armed Forces Heroes, policy families, meritorious people and revolutionary veterans, meet former local leaders of different periods, organize visits to martyrs' cemeteries, etc.

Through meaningful and practical activities organized, the heroic fighting tradition of the Vietnamese people in general and the army and people of Lam Dong in particular in the resistance war against the US to save the country has been further engraved in the hearts of the people; honoring and expressing gratitude to the heroic martyrs, comrades and compatriots who heroically sacrificed their blood and bones, dedicating their whole lives to the cause of national liberation, national reunification, building and defending the socialist Vietnamese homeland.

At the meeting, comrades who were provincial leaders through the periods who had worked during the resistance war and comrades who were provincial leaders in the early days after liberation shared many memories and emotions.
