Mr. Nguyen Cao Tri - Vice Chairman of Da Huoai District People's Committee said that the locality currently has a total cashew area of up to 6,136.75 hectares, most of which is in the harvesting stage. Recognizing the key role of cashew trees in bringing stable income to people, in recent years, the district's functional departments and branches have actively supported farmers in applying scientific and technical advances in cultivation. Many intensive farming models, applying high technology in planting and caring for cashew trees have been deployed, helping to improve productivity and product quality, while adapting to the challenges of climate change and moving towards safe and sustainable production. Thanks to that, many cashew processing facilities have been established in the locality, from factory scale to household scale.
However, a worrying fact pointed out by Mr. Nguyen Cao Tri is that despite efforts to implement many trade promotion and advertising activities locally, the results are still not commensurate with the potential. The product "Da Huoai Cashew" is still not widely known by consumers nationwide, facing the risk of brand decline and loss of market confidence.
Therefore, since 2023, Da Huoai district has implemented the construction of a certification label for cashew products, demonstrating a strong determination to protect and develop the reputation of this specialty. After two years of implementation, on March 31, 2025, the Department of Intellectual Property issued a decision to grant a Certificate of product trademark registration. Accordingly, the certification label "Da Huoai Cashew" is valid for 10 years, from March 2025 to March 2035, marking an important turning point in building a brand and enhancing the value of the locality's key agricultural products.
In addition, the successful protection of the certification mark is an important first step, opening up opportunities for "Da Huoai Cashew Nuts" to go further, increase competitiveness and develop the market. This is a great honor, a driving force for Da Huoai to continue to improve the value of agricultural products, creating sustainable livelihoods for farmers. However, in order for the brand to promote its value, the locality needs to continue to improve product quality, build a sustainable chain and promote the brand. At the same time, Da Huoai district will commit to preserving and developing the brand, building the "Da Huoai Cashew Nuts" brand worthy of its potential and expectations.
Currently, Da Huoai district is carrying out procedures to grant the right to use the trademark to individuals and organizations that meet the prescribed standards. The two pioneering units granted the right to use the trademark in this phase are Le Gia Agricultural Export Processing and Service Cooperative and Luu Thi Kim Huong business household. Particularly for Le Gia agricultural products, this is one of the cooperatives specializing in the production, processing and export of cashew nuts cultivated on the soil of Cat Tien district (old) suitable for cashew trees, so the cashew nuts are plump, fatty, sweet and very fragrant. Established for a long time, Le Gia agricultural products have continuously invested in equipment, improved methods and labor to produce products of the best quality, meeting export standards and having high nutritional value. With strict standards, Le Gia Cooperative only brings to the market about 20 tons of OCOP-certified salted roasted cashew nuts out of a total of 125 tons of finished products each year. According to Mr. Le Van Bay - Director of Le Gia Agricultural Products Export Processing and Trading Cooperative, building the "Da Huoai Cashew Nuts" certification mark is considered a strategic and vital solution. The ultimate goal is to build a strong brand, protect and develop the existing reputation, while improving product quality and enhancing the competitiveness of "Da Huoai Cashew Nuts" in the domestic and international markets. With this brand "passport", "Da Huoai Cashew Nuts" hopes to go further, affirming its position on the map of Vietnamese agricultural products.
In the coming time, Da Huoai district will continue to promote propaganda and mobilize farmers to stop growing cashew nuts and instead, introduce new cashew varieties with high productivity and quality. In particular, to build a cashew brand with outstanding local advantages, the district encourages people to renovate and intensify cashew gardens, and grow organically. In addition, building cashew products by developing them into OCOP products helps Da Huoai district orient its development in the direction of linkage, linking production with preliminary processing, processing and product consumption. In particular, more importantly, it is calling for businesses to invest in the cashew sector, linking production, and product consumption between cashew growers and businesses... Only then will cashew trees gradually develop sustainably, becoming one of the key crops to contribute to increasing income and stabilizing the sustainable economy for people. From there, it opens up opportunities to develop new brands for the local cashew industry.
