In the first half of April, Vietnam's coffee export turnover reached 3.3 billion USD, up 46.8% over the same period last year, despite a decrease in output. According to data from the General Department of Customs, in the first half of April 2025, Vietnam exported 83,572 tons of coffee, worth 482.98 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, output decreased slightly by 3%, while value increased by nearly 50%.
From the beginning of the year to April 15, the total coffee export output reached 580,999 tons, down 13.5%, equivalent to 90,383 tons compared to the same period in 2024. However, thanks to the sharp increase in coffee prices, the turnover still increased by nearly 47%, reaching 3.3 billion USD. With this result, coffee has surpassed seafood for the first time (currently reaching 2.7 billion USD) to rise to second place in export turnover in the agricultural group, only behind wood and wood products (4.57 billion USD).
The average export price of Vietnamese coffee in the first half of April reached 5,779 USD/ton, down slightly by 1.6% compared to the previous month, but still 54.3% higher than the same period in 2024. Overall, from the beginning of the year to mid-April, the average export price reached 5,685 USD/ton, up nearly 70%.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market fell sharply on both exchanges:

July 2025 delivery: Up 2.8 cents/lb, to 394.1 cents/lb.
In the international market, at the end of the morning trading session on April 25, the price of Arabica coffee reached its highest level in 4 weeks, while Robusta also reached its highest level in 1 week, reflecting the positive sentiment of investors.
According to Reuters, the National Coffee Association (NCA) said that its proposal to exempt coffee imports from import tariffs has received positive feedback from the Trump administration. However, Bill Murray, CEO of the NCA, remains cautious and said it is difficult to predict whether the proposal will be approved or not.
Global coffee prices were also supported by a rise in the Brazilian real and concerns about limited supplies. The real rose to a two-and-a-half week high against the dollar on April 23, reducing the incentive for Brazilian coffee producers to sell to the market.
In addition, according to forecasts from Rabobank and Itau BBA, Brazil's coffee production in the 2025-2026 crop year could decline by 3% to 6.4% year-on-year due to the impact of dry weather throughout 2024. This raises concerns about global supply and continues to support the upward trend in coffee prices.
