Domestic coffee price list updated on the morning of June 5, 2025 |
According to experts, domestic and export coffee prices have been falling continuously in recent days. The reason is believed to be due to great pressure from abundant supply in Brazil and Indonesia, along with increasing global inventories. In addition, trade tensions between countries have also made the market more unstable.
Recently, Vietnamese businesses have been actively promoting exports to nearby markets, especially Southeast Asian countries and China, thanks to low transportation costs and similar consumer cultures. However, the coffee market is facing many fluctuations.
In the world market, coffee prices on both exchanges simultaneously decreased. Experts said that hedge funds sold heavily when they wanted to release short-buy contracts on both exchanges, causing coffee prices to continue to decline.
Meanwhile, some businesses said that Vietnamese coffee prices are currently higher than those of competing exporting countries, causing trading activities to slow down somewhat. At the same time, rising transportation costs and concerns about the application of new tariffs are also putting additional pressure on trade and export costs. Experts said that without major changes in supply, coffee prices could continue to face downward pressure in the short term.
As of mid-May 2025, Vietnam's coffee exports reached nearly 780,000 tons, equivalent to 2.69 billion USD, down 5.6% in volume but up sharply 56.6% in value compared to the same period last year. Thanks to high coffee prices, this is considered an impressive growth rate. It is forecasted that coffee exports this year could reach 7 billion USD, continuing to maintain the position of this key industry in the international market.
