Early this morning, May 7, the price of Robusta coffee on the London floor closed down 20-35 USD/ton, to 5,051 - 5,256 USD/ton, depending on the term.
Meanwhile, domestic Robusta coffee prices are stable at VND128,600/kg.
Coffee futures are often referred to as "paper goods" while traditionally traded coffee is referred to as "physical goods".
According to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), in April 2025, Vietnam exported 166,547 tons of green coffee alone, with an export turnover of nearly 916 million USD, up 21.1% in volume and 85% in value over the same period last year. Of which, Robusta exports reached 152,395 tons, with a turnover of over 821.5 million USD, and Arabica exports reached 9,571 tons, with a turnover of over 62.8 million USD.
In fact, the average export price of Robusta coffee during this period was 5,391 USD/ton (about 138,800 VND/kg).

In the first 4 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 665,330 tons of green coffee, with an export turnover of nearly 3.58 billion USD, down 2.3% in volume but up 64.2% in value over the same period in 2024.
Thus, Vietnam's coffee exports have accelerated strongly in the past two months and increased the most in April, both in quantity and export value.
This is the stage when Vietnamese enterprises can not only export large quantities but also at high unit prices.
In just one month, for green coffee alone, two leading Vietnamese enterprises, Intimex Group Corporation and Vinh Hiep Company Limited, exported more than 100 million USD.
Of which, Vinh Hiep Company Limited exported 111 million USD, output of about 18,500 tons, unit price of coffee up to about 6,000 USD/ton.
