In the North

Last week, the live pig market in the Northern region recorded a clear upward trend in prices in many localities.

Specifically, provinces such as Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi and Ninh Binh all increased by 1,000 VND/kg.

In particular, Hung Yen , Thai Binh and Tuyen Quang are the localities with the strongest increase, up to 2,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, pig prices in Yen Bai, Lao Cai and Nam Dinh did not fluctuate much, remaining stable compared to last week.

After adjustments, the price of live pigs in the North is currently around 67,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region

Last week, the live pig market in the Central and Central Highlands regions recorded inconsistent developments among provinces and cities.

Specifically, pork prices in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An increased slightly by VND 1,000/kg, to VND 68,000/kg.

On the contrary, many localities such as Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan reduced by 1,000 VND/kg, bringing the price to 68,000 - 73,000 VND/kg.

Lam Dong is the region with the deepest decrease, with a decrease of 2,000 VND/kg, down to 72,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, the price of live pigs in Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Ha Tinh and Khanh Hoa provinces did not fluctuate, remaining stable at around 67,000 - 72,000 VND/kg.

In general, the price of live pigs in the Central Highlands last week fluctuated between 67,000 - 73,000 VND/kg.

According to many experts, when herd restoration becomes easier and more numerous, it will lead to an increase in supply in the coming time. In addition, the amount of imported meat can still increase when needed, ensuring consumer demand. Therefore, the price of live pigs in the coming time may decrease slightly, possibly returning to a stable level of 65,000 - 72,000 VND/kg depending on the region.

In the Southern region

Last week, the live pig market in the South recorded a sideways or slightly decreasing trend in many localities.

Specifically, the provinces of Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, An Giang, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh and Ben Tre all reduced by 1,000 VND/kg.

Dong Thap alone recorded the deepest decrease in the region, up to 2,000 VND/kg.

In contrast, pork prices in the provinces of Binh Phuoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Long An, Vinh Long, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu and Soc Trang remained stable compared to last week.

Despite slight adjustments, the South is still the leading region in terms of live pig prices nationwide, with common prices ranging from 73,000 - 75,000 VND/kg.
