Today's live pig price in the North continues to remain stable around 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg. Compared to yesterday, the market has not recorded any new fluctuations.
Specifically, the common price of 68,000 VND/kg appeared in many provinces and cities such as Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi and Tuyen Quang.
Meanwhile, localities such as Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam and Ninh Binh are anchoring prices at 67,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region
Similar to the North, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions continued to be stable, fluctuating from 67,000 VND/kg to 73,000 VND/kg.
In Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Quang Tri, the price is currently at 68,000 VND/kg. Quang Binh, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai maintain the price at 69,000 VND/kg. Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa have prices at 70,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, Lam Dong, Dak Lak and Ninh Thuan recorded 72,000 VND/kg. Binh Thuan is the locality with the highest price in the region, reaching 73,000 VND/kg. In contrast, Ha Tinh has the lowest price with 67,000 VND/kg.

In the Southern region, live pig prices generally remained stable in most provinces and cities, except for An Giang, which recorded a slight increase of VND1,000/kg, bringing the price to VND75,000/kg.
Localities such as Binh Phuoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh and Hau Giang continue to maintain the level of 73,000 VND/kg.
A series of provinces including Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Tra Vinh and Soc Trang are maintaining the price of 74,000 VND/kg.
The highest price in the region is currently recorded in Long An, Tien Giang, Ben Tre and An Giang, all at 75,000 VND/kg.

In general, the live hog market on May 16 continued to remain stable nationwide. Prices in the North and Central Highlands did not record any new fluctuations, while in the South, only An Giang slightly increased, while the remaining localities maintained prices as in the previous days.
Cao Bang: Destroyed 667 pigs infected with African swine fever
Since the beginning of the year, the province has had 667 pigs infected with African swine fever, weighing over 26 tons, from 94 households/21 villages/12 communes of the districts: Hoa An, Bao Lac, Bao Lam, Thach An and the City.
Currently, the whole province still has 2 outbreaks that have not passed 21 days, in Nam Tuan commune (Hoa An) and Duc Thong commune (Thach An).
Faced with the complicated epidemic situation, the provincial Department of Crop Production and Livestock issued documents on registering vaccination needs for livestock and poultry; implementing sanitation and disinfection spraying of pork trading areas and pork products that tested positive for African swine fever virus. Urging localities to strengthen monitoring of the epidemic situation in livestock, taking samples for testing to determine the specific cause of the disease.
In addition, 5,000 doses of African swine fever vaccine and 24 liters of chemicals were provided to districts to disinfect and vaccinate livestock, according to Cao Bang newspaper.
