Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh spoke at the meeting. |
The working session aimed to concretize the contents of Resolution 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; and deploy the "Semiconductor industry development strategy in Hue city".
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh requested that agencies and units “cannot work individually”, but must coordinate synchronously and interact regularly, especially in each specific task segment. “Only then will the implementation of the resolution bring about real effectiveness, avoiding overlap and fragmentation,” Mr. Binh said.
City leaders requested relevant units to review and establish priority task lists such as: Applied scientific research, digital database development, startup support, digital transformation in urban management and public services.
Hue University is currently one of the three largest regional universities in the country, consisting of 8 member universities, more than 40 affiliated units, with nearly 60,000 staff, lecturers and students. It is also one of the leading research centers in the fields of medicine, agriculture, forestry, biotechnology, culture, architecture, social sciences and humanities.
According to a representative of Hue University, this unit is strongly shifting to a research-oriented university model - innovation, with the goal of enhancing knowledge transfer, developing start-up businesses and connecting more deeply with the government, businesses and the community.
Hue University is ready to accompany Hue city, not only in training human resources but also in solving problems of developing special urban areas, heritage urban areas and green urban areas.
On the city side, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized the need to build a mechanism to turn scientific and technological products into specific products to serve socio-economic development; promote the formation of institutions to support innovation and create conditions for research groups to access local practices.
“We also prioritize attracting investment in high-tech industries, including microelectronics and semiconductors – where we can exploit the research and training strengths of Hue University,” said Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee.
