Pig price today May 28: Peak 76,000 VND/kg

In the North, the price of live pigs is still the lowest in the country, with a common price of 67,000 - 68,000 VND/kg. Phu Tho, Thai Binh and Bac Giang are the highest in the region, with 69,000 VND/kg.

In the Central region, the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai have common live pig prices ranging from 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg, while Ha Tinh is still at 67,000 VND/kg. The provinces from Binh Dinh to Binh Thuan and the Central Highlands have common live pig prices ranging from 69,000 - 73,000 VND/kg, while Lam Dong is the highest in the region at 74,000 VND/kg.

The Southern region maintains high pork prices . Specifically, Long An is up to 76,000 VND/kg; the livestock capital Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, An Giang , Tien Giang, Ben Tre are all 75,000 VND/kg. Binh Phuoc and Ho Chi Minh City are the lowest in the region with 73,000 VND/kg, other provinces and cities are all 74,000 VND/kg.

The average price of live pigs nationwide is 70,700 VND/kg. The "big guy" CP Vietnam maintains the selling price of live pigs in the North at 67,000 VND/kg and in the South at 74,000 VND/kg. The high price of live pigs is a favorable condition for frozen meat to flood into Vietnam. In the past 4 months, the value of meat imports increased by nearly 20% and it is forecasted that the quantity and value will continue to increase as Vietnam has reduced taxes on imported meat products since the beginning of April. At some supermarkets, the price of imported frozen meat is only about 50 - 60% compared to the same type of domestic products.

Due to the stable price of live pigs, in Ho Chi Minh City, retail meat at distribution channels has not changed much. Some popular items such as pig tail 230,000 VND/kg, cutlet 114,000 VND/kg, thigh 147,000 VND/kg, pork belly 214,000 VND/kg, ribless pork belly 250,000 VND/kg, boneless pork leg 152,000 VND/kg, lean pork 193,000 VND/kg.../.
