Gia Lai was selected to host the National Tourism Year 2026.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province to complete documents according to the provisions of Decree No. 110/2018/ND-CP and deploy related activities in the National Tourism Year 2026, ensuring practicality and effectiveness, thereby contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam tourism in general and Gia Lai tourism in particular to domestic and foreign tourists.

National Tourism Year 2026 has the theme: "Gia Lai - Convergence of identity, spreading green"

Previously, on September 21, 2025, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province issued Official Dispatch No. 3785/UBND-KGVX to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism regarding the registration to host the National Tourism Year 2026. Gia Lai province proposed the National Tourism Year 2026 with the theme: "Gia Lai - Convergence of identity, spreading green" (Demonstrating the connection between the sea and the highlands, between culture and nature, between the Central region and the whole country, towards sustainable development and international integration).

Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee pledges to make the greatest efforts, arrange local budget, mobilize socialized resources and participate in and closely coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and other ministries, branches and localities nationwide to successfully organize the National Tourism Year 2026 according to the set criteria and requirements; ensure safety, security, environment and service quality, contribute to promoting the image of Vietnamese tourism, and promote tourism to truly become a spearhead economic sector.
