Gia Lai - Funeral and burial of 22 martyrs' remains

On the morning of May 25, at the Martyrs' Cemetery of Duc Co district (Gia Lai province), the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province solemnly held a ceremony to pay tribute, pay tribute, and bury the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia and were returned to the country, searched for and gathered by Team K52 (Gia Lai Provincial Military Command) during the dry season of 2022 - 2023.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Ho Van Nien, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Truong Hai Long - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Rah Lan Chung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Major General Nguyen Dinh Tien, member of the Standing Committee of the Military Region Party Committee - Deputy Commander of Military Region 5; Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Specialized Committee 515 of Gia Lai province; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; leaders of departments, branches, organizations, and unions of the province; armed forces units stationed in the area; leaders of the provinces: Ratanakiri, Preah Vihear and Stung Treng (Kingdom of Cambodia), the Command of Military Region 1, Military Region 4 (Royal Cambodian Army); people of all walks of life in Duc Co district.
This is the 22nd dry season that Team K52 has been tasked with collecting martyrs' remains in Cambodia (from November 3, 2022 to May 25, 2023). Nearly 70 officers and soldiers of Team K52 have overcome hardships, crossed mountains, crossed forests... to search and collect in 3 northeastern provinces of Cambodia. The team has collected nearly 80 pieces of information about the burial places of martyrs, organized searches for nearly 30 locations with information on martyrs' graves and collected 22 martyrs' remains (Ratanakiri province: 07 remains, STung Treng: 08 remains and Pret Vi Hia: 07 remains); all 22 martyrs' remains have remains (small, broken bones) and relics (belts, tunics, army belts, army curtains, shoe soles, etc.), all of which have been sampled; All the remains of martyrs have not been identified. To date, Team K52 has searched for, collected and brought back to the country 1,468 martyrs' remains.
With deep sorrow and gratitude, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee 515 of Gia Lai province affirmed: "Today, the Party Committee, Government and People of all ethnic groups of Gia Lai province solemnly organized the Visitation Ceremony, Memorial Service and Burial of 22 martyrs who have successfully fulfilled their noble international duty to rest in eternal peace in the heart of the beloved motherland of Vietnam at Duc Co Martyrs' Cemetery. The sacrifice of the martyrs is an extremely great loss, leaving behind infinite sorrow for the people of the whole country. The Fatherland has lost its outstanding children - brave soldiers, loyal to the country, devoted to the people... Farewell to the martyrs, the beloved children of the Fatherland who devoted their whole lives to the noble international duty. May the martyrs rest in eternal peace in the heart of the beloved motherland of Vietnam!".
Previously (from May 22 to May 24, 2023), the Requiem and Farewell Ceremony were held by the Provincial Steering Committee 515 in the three provinces of Ratanakiri, Preah Vihear and Stung Treng (Kingdom of Cambodia)./.
