Rice export prices remain stable, Philippines returns to the market

In the export market, Vietnam’s rice prices have not changed. 5% broken fragrant rice is at 400 – 430 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 311 – 315 USD/ton; and Jasmine rice is at 448 – 452 USD/ton.

Sources from Platts said that the Philippines is returning to the regional market and actively offering to buy Vietnamese rice for shipments in January 2026. Due to import restrictions for four months (from September to the end of December 2025), the country is forced to close the order early to import about 300,000 tons within the allowed time.

The Philippines had temporarily suspended rice imports to support local farmers when prices fell during the harvest season. In October, the suspension was extended to April 2026, with a one-month reopening in January.
