Durian price today May 28: Continues to be stable in the range...

Durian prices today (May 28) have not fluctuated much compared to previous days, remaining within the range of 25,000 - 90,000 VND/kg depending on the type and purchasing area.

According to a survey by Chogia.vn, in the Mekong Delta region, the price of RI6 durian in bulk fluctuates between 25,000 - 28,000 VND/kg, while Thai durian in bulk remains at 45,000 - 50,000 VND/kg. The price of carefully selected beautiful durian such as RI6 A or Thai A is generally at 60,000 - 90,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

However, according to Vinh Long newspaper, although it is the main season, the selling price of durian at the garden is the lowest in many years, causing many growers to only break even or suffer heavy losses. Unfavorable weather from the beginning of the season has caused a significant decrease in output, while the selling price is half lower than the same period last year.

At the garden, RI6 durian sold in buckets is purchased for 35,000 - 40,000 VND/kg, Thai durian fluctuates around 60,000 VND/kg.

At Vinh Long market, RI6 type A (1.7 - 5 kg/fruit) retails for about 80,000 VND/kg, type B from 50,000 - 60,000 VND/kg

Thai durian retails for 100,000 - 120,000 VND/kg, depending on size and quality.

Although domestic prices are holding steady, current prices are well below multi-year averages, especially given low output and high input costs.
