According to a survey from chogia.vn, the price of durian today (May 31) did not change compared to the previous day.
Specifically, in the Southwestern region, selected RI6 durian is purchased at around 50,000 - 60,000 VND/kg; RI6 in bulk is at 37,000 - 43,000 VND/kg. Selected Thai durian is significantly higher, fluctuating at 70,000 - 95,000 VND/kg, while Thai durian is purchased in bulk at 57,000 - 60,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, the price of selected RI6 is 51,000 - 52,000 VND/kg; RI6 is 35,000 - 37,000 VND/kg. The price of selected Thai durian is maintained at 80,000 - 83,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands, the price of selected RI6 is 50,000 - 53,000 VND/kg, RI6 in bulk is 35,000 - 38,000 VND/kg. Selected Thai durian ranges from 77,000 - 80,000 VND/kg, while Thai durian in bulk is 57,000 - 60,000 VND/kg.
Thus, in general, the price level of RI6 and Thai durian in key areas is still good and stable in the context of a fairly balanced market between supply and demand.
Not only concerned with price, many consumers are now shifting to buying clean, naturally ripened, chemical-free durian.
According to Ha Tinh newspaper, in the 2025 durian season, consumers here have another safe choice when WAO FOODS distributes clean durians inspected by the international organization SGS.
The difference of this clean durian lies in the natural harvesting method, without chemical intervention. The gardener must tap and select each fruit that is fully ripe, after harvesting it will continue to ripen for 2-3 days, instead of cutting it all at once and treating it with chemicals as usual.
This method requires a lot of effort and is subject to high risks due to the effects of the weather (unpredictable rain and sunshine can cause the durian to become dry or fall off). However, gardeners like WAO Quynh Nhi in Ha Tinh are still persistent in pursuing the path of making clean durian to bring consumers a quality product that is safe for their health.
