Latest durian price news
This event took place just two days after a face-to-face meeting between leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the General Administration of Customs of China in Beijing, marking an important step forward in agricultural trade cooperation between the two countries.
This is the first shipment of frozen durian from Vietnam to be officially exported to China under the bilateral protocol signed on August 19, 2024.
According to Chinese media, a shipment of 22.24 tons of frozen durian from Vietnam was exported to China through the Beilun II Bridge in Dongxing, Guangxi from May 30.
At the border gate, this shipment underwent a strict inspection process. The durian products were de-shelled and quickly frozen to minus 18 degrees Celsius with liquid nitrogen.
This method effectively prolongs the shelf life of fruits, making it suitable for long-distance transportation and long-term storage.
“This truck carrying frozen durians departed from Lam Dong Province, passed through Mong Cai Border Gate in Vietnam, and then went through customs clearance at Dongxing Border Gate,” said Chen Jiqing, representative of Yixin Customs Declaration Co., Ltd. in Dongxing, Guangxi. “After completing the inspection, the goods will be delivered to domestic food processing companies.”
He also added that frozen durian has a long shelf life, is easy to consume and can be used for food processing, making it very popular with consumers and food processing companies in China.
