After the US imposed reciprocal tariffs, Vietnamese pepper is facing difficulties in competing on price with countries such as Brazil and Indonesia, which have lower tariffs. This is a big challenge for the Vietnamese pepper industry in the long term.
In the context of fluctuating global trade, Vietnamese export enterprises have proactively shifted direction, reducing dependence on traditional markets and expanding to new markets.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), although pepper export volume decreased in the first months of 2025, turnover increased sharply thanks to higher selling prices. This reflects the efforts of Vietnamese enterprises to diversify markets and seek new customers in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and other potential regions.
