Domestic pepper prices updated on the morning of May 11, 2025 |
On the morning of May 11, the domestic pepper market suddenly decreased sharply compared to previous sideways and high sessions.
According to experts, after the US announced the reciprocal tax rate, the Vietnamese pepper market is facing price competition with pepper from Brazil and Indonesia because their reciprocal tax rates are lower. This is a big challenge that Vietnamese pepper has to face in the long term.
However, the business community hopes that the world pepper market has remained stable and high in recent times, which will continue to create positive momentum for domestic pepper prices. If demand from major markets such as the Middle East and Europe increases sharply in the second quarter of 2025, pepper prices may continue to increase.

In the context of volatile trade, Vietnamese export enterprises are also proactively diversifying markets to reduce dependence on a few traditional partners.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), pepper exports in the first months of 2025 decreased in volume but increased sharply in value thanks to increased export prices, showing the proactive diversification of markets and search for new customers in other markets such as Europe, Asia, the Middle East, etc. of Vietnamese enterprises.
