Pepper price today April 17, 2025: Exports increase across the board

Domestic pepper prices are recovering strongly after a period of stagnation due to concerns about US tax policies. The rapid increase in demand has breathed new life into the market, while creating conditions for businesses to renegotiate prices with previously signed contracts. In the context of the risk of high taxes after the extension period still exists, many businesses are taking advantage of importing goods to avoid the risk of increased costs in the coming time.

Demand for pepper imports has returned from many major markets such as the US, Europe, Asian countries, especially China. In the domestic market, farmers and traders still maintain a hoarding mentality, selling only in limited quantities, contributing to the scarcity of supply.

This year’s pepper harvest is almost complete nationwide. In Dak Nong – the country’s largest pepper growing region – harvesting has been completed. In Dak Lak, which accounts for about 30% of Vietnam’s pepper output, the harvest progress is about 80–90%. Other key provinces such as Binh Phuoc, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, and Dong Nai have also completed harvesting.

However, in the pepper growing area of Quang Tri, this year's output is expected to decrease sharply by 60 to 70% due to adverse weather conditions, significantly affecting the country's total supply.
