Domestic pepper prices updated on the morning of June 3, 2025

On the morning of June 3, the domestic pepper market fluctuated and increased again, but the increase was within a narrow range and uneven in key pepper growing areas. Meanwhile, world pepper prices continued to move sideways and stabilize, except for Malaysian black pepper prices which decreased slightly compared to yesterday.

Experts say that in recent days, domestic pepper prices have continuously decreased slightly, but in reality, they are still maintaining a significantly higher level than at this time of year normally.

In the short term, pepper purchasing prices may continue to fluctuate within a narrow range, depending on the export speed and the stockpiling trend of processing enterprises as well as international traders.

In the domestic market, prices decreased by 500 - 2,500 VND/kg compared to last week. In the export market, black pepper prices lost another 200 USD/ton after only one week of trading.

On a global scale, pepper prices in countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Brazil, etc. have all recorded a decrease of 150-200 USD/ton in the past month, with only Indonesia showing signs of a slight recovery. The main reason is the unstable tariff policy of the US, causing import businesses to limit signing new contracts. In addition, shipping costs increased by 20-30% in the past week, further putting pressure on prices.

Experts say pepper prices in the coming time will fluctuate within a narrow range, depending on purchasing power from the US, China and businesses' storage capacity.
