Pepper price today 11/5/2025 in the country and the world latest

The average export price of pepper in the 10 months reached 6,628 USD/ton for black pepper and 8,683 USD/ton for white pepper; up 36.6% and 34.4% respectively compared to 2024. The US continues to be the largest consumer market with 44,262 tons of pepper, accounting for 21.4% of total exports but down 29.4% over the same period. Strong growth markets include the UAE (17,304 tons, +18.8%), China (16,567 tons, +79.1%), India (11,370 tons, +20.6%) and Thailand (+29.1%). In contrast, exports to Germany decreased by 25.8%.

In the corporate sector, Olam Vietnam leads with 20,059 tons of pepper, followed by Nedspice Vietnam (17,897 tons) and Phuc Sinh (16,607 tons). Some other units such as Simexco Dak Lak, Haprosimex JSC, DK or Intimex recorded a slight increase, while many small businesses faced difficulties due to lack of working capital.

According to the Vietnam Pepper Association (VPSA), since the new Value Added Tax Law took effect on July 1, the pepper industry has faced many challenges. The regulation requiring a 5% advance payment of VAT has made many businesses and cooperatives unable to turn around capital, forcing them to temporarily stop purchasing. Cash flow in the market has therefore been withdrawn from the circulation chain, pushing many businesses into financial stress due to capital being "buried" in unrefunded taxes.

Thus, today's pepper price on November 5, 2025 in the country is trading around 145,000 - 147,000 VND/kg.
