Preparation work is elaborate, methodical and thorough.
On November 5, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment held a press conference to announce activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Tradition Day of Agriculture and Environment (1945 - 2025) and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress.

According to the Ministry, this is an important political and social event, affirming the pivotal role of agriculture, farmers, rural areas, natural resources and environment in the country's sustainable development. Over 8 decades of construction and development, the industry has always maintained its position as a "pillar" of the economy, contributing to ensuring food security, people's livelihoods and environmental protection. This is also an opportunity to pay tribute to previous generations, arousing the spirit of innovation, creativity and the desire for green development.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien said that preparations for the celebration were carried out meticulously, methodically and thoroughly. A number of activities have taken place and were successful, such as the Industry Achievement Exhibition and the 2025 Autumn Fair. The Ministry is also finalizing a publication summarizing 80 years of industry development, along with two documentary films scheduled to be shown in the exhibition space. "All content is strictly censored, ensuring solemnity, fully expressing the identity and journey of the agriculture and environment sector accompanying the country," said the Deputy Minister.
According to the plan, the series of events to celebrate the 80th anniversary will last from July to December 2025, with many diverse activities spreading across the country. The focus will be on the 80th Anniversary Ceremony and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress, held on the morning of November 12 at the National Convention Center (Hanoi), with more than 1,200 delegates attending.
At the same time, the Exhibition of 80 Years of Industry Achievements will take place in the lobby on the first floor of the National Convention Center, introducing the imprints of the periods, scientific and technological achievements, typical production models and the participation of many large enterprises and industry associations, demonstrating the spirit of innovation, integration and green development.
In addition, the series of activities also includes the "Return to the Source" program at the Ministry of Agriculture Relic Site (Tuyen Quang), associated with gratitude activities, support for poor households, policy families, and the ceremony of attaching welcome signs at Phu Sa Pumping Station (Hanoi) and Tho Quang Fishing Port (Da Nang) - symbolizing the spirit of emulation and creative labor for the common development of the country.
Along with political and social activities, the Ministry also promotes communication and propaganda. Notably, the 6th Agricultural and Rural Development Economic Journalism Award - 2025, with the theme "Vietnam's agriculture and environment enter a new era", aims to honor journalistic works reflecting green transformation and sustainable development.
Agricultural, forestry and fishery exports expected to reach 70 billion USD
At the press conference, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment also informed the production and export situation in October and 10 months of 2025.
According to Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien, despite facing many challenges, the whole industry has still achieved positive results. Regarding institutions, documents related to decentralization and delegation of power have been updated and fully approved. The Ministry is finalizing a law amending 15 laws to remove "bottlenecks of bottlenecks", while drastically cutting down administrative procedures, creating convenience for businesses and people.
Regarding production, the agricultural sector recorded stable growth: September reached 3.33%; October and the accumulated 10 months of 2025 continued to change positively. Rice output reached 39 million tons (99.2% of the plan); livestock increased by 5.1%; poultry increased by 2.9%; aquaculture increased by 3.1%, reaching about 9.7 - 9.8 million tons; forestry is estimated to reach 31 million cubic meters of wood.
Total export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached 58.13 billion USD, up 19.2% over the same period; trade surplus was 17.59 billion USD. It is expected that in 2025, the industry will reach the 70 billion USD mark, despite market fluctuations, rising material prices and slowing consumption demand.
Regarding the fight against IUU fishing, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien affirmed that this is a task that "must be done every day, every hour", requiring localities to persistently and resolutely implement the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister to soon remove the EC yellow card.
The Ministry is also implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on science, technology and innovation, considering it a strategic breakthrough for green growth, improving productivity and added value of agricultural products. “The implementation of Resolution 57 must be drastic, regularly reviewed and urged; the assigned tasks must be completed,” said Mr. Tien.
Regarding natural disaster prevention, the Ministry has proactively responded to storm No. 13, which is forecast to be of strong intensity, by reviewing, checking, preparing response plans and restoring production, and promoting experience from 2020 - 2021 to minimize damage.
Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien said that by the end of the year, the agriculture and environment sector is expected to achieve and exceed 9 key targets, including industry growth, export turnover, forest coverage rate, clean water in rural areas and new rural development. This is the basis for the sector to fully complete the 2025 plan, contributing to economic stability and improving people's lives.
