On the morning of April 25, pepper prices recorded in key regions were at an average of 156,300 VND/kg, a sharp increase of 1,900 VND/kg compared to the previous day.
Dak Lak pepper price is highest, at 157,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 VND/kg; Gia Lai pepper price is lowest, at 155,500 VND/kg, although still up 1,500 VND/kg.
This is good news for farmers who have just harvested pepper and many are waiting to sell to cover production and irrigation costs for their gardens.
Updated pepper prices from the International Pepper Association, Vietnam's supply remains unchanged, commonly from 6,800 - 6,900 USD/ton for black pepper, depending on the type and 9,800 USD/ton for white pepper.

However, pepper supply from Indonesia and Malaysia decreased. The sharpest decrease was in Malaysian pepper, with black pepper at 9,300 USD/ton, down 3.23%; Malaysian white pepper at 11,900 USD/ton, down 1.68%.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in the first two weeks of April, Vietnam exported 10,413 tons of pepper, earning 72 million USD.
There are 5 exported pepper products listed: whole black pepper, ground black pepper, soaked pepper, whole white pepper and ground white pepper.
From black pepper purchased in buckets from farmers, businesses will filter impurities, classify sizes or continue processing into white pepper, ground pepper or finished products.
