At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey was listed at 117-118.7 million VND/tael for buying and selling. Compared to yesterday, the gold price increased by 1 million VND/tael for buying and 700 thousand VND/tael for selling compared to yesterday.

World gold price today May 28, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 p.m. today, Vietnam time, was 3,323.34 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 21.99 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,140 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 108.64 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 10.06 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
World gold prices rose slightly again after plunging in the previous two sessions. Currently, spot gold increased 0.67% back to above $3,300, while US gold futures also stabilized around $3,300.60.
One of the factors supporting gold prices is investors buying when prices fall. However, the increase is limited as trade tensions between the US and the European Union (EU) show signs of easing. US President Donald Trump has postponed imposing a 50% tariff on some EU goods until July 9 to give the two sides time to negotiate.
According to Tim Waterer, a market analyst at KCM Trade, gold prices below $3,300 yesterday attracted some investors to buy. However, the market sentiment is currently quite optimistic thanks to the easing of tensions between the US and the EU, making it difficult for gold to increase sharply in the short term. He also said that if gold holds the support zone of $3,250 to $3,280, there is a high possibility of a rebound to $3,400 if the market becomes more cautious.
Markets are now awaiting Friday's US PCE inflation data to gauge the likelihood of the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates in the near future. The interest rate has been held at 4.25% - 4.50% since December last year as the Fed needs more time to assess the impact of tariffs on the economy.
In addition, US consumer confidence improved in May after five consecutive months of decline, thanks to positive signals from the US-China trade war. According to Waterer, gold prices may only fluctuate strongly after the market has more information from Nvidia's business results and PCE data later in the week.
Meanwhile, silver fell slightly by 0.3% to $33.21 an ounce, platinum remained unchanged at $1,079.88, and palladium fell by 0.3% to $975.79.
